HS Trojans Track at DuQuoin today!
Your High School girls track team is currently racing at the Don Webb Invitational at Benton, and they just crushed the MUCH larger competition in the 4x200 relay ran by Jayden Taylor, Edyn Knight, Lydia Hulbert, and Kadi Bain.
That time puts them at #24 in the state! Great race girls!

Long jump
Kadi jump 15’2.5” for a lifetime PR getting her second place
Ellie jumped a season PR of 15’ for 3rd place
Ellie also got 7th in triple jump
Chloe King threw a solid throw of 85’ 9 3/4“ placing her 6th in the discus
The 4x100 m relay of Jayden, Edyn, Lydia, and Kadi got first with a hand timed PR of 53.9
The same girls doubled and also won the 4x200 m relay with a time of 1:56.6 beating second place DuQuoin by 3seconds
We had girls run the 100 (Jesa, Kadi) Kadi getting 4th place and Jesa beating 6 other girls
And girls run the 200 (Jesa, Jayden) Jayden getting 4th

Ellie Talbert got 8th in HJ clearing 4’4”. She also jumped in LJ and triple jump and placed 8th in both!
Kadi with a new PR of 15’7.75” placed her 2nd in Long jump
Chloe got 7th in discus and 12th in shot put
4x100 relay raced better than their seeding placing 5th with a time of 53.7
Kadi placed 6th with a 13.39 in the 100 with a PR, Jayden placed 8th, and Jesa ran a PR in the open 100
In the 200 we had
Jesa ran a pr of a 35.42 placing her in the top 20
Edyn ran her first open 200 with a time of 28.99 placing her 8th
Jayden got 5th with a PR of 28.45
Lydia ran the 400 for the first time since indoor and ran a PR of 1:15
Kadi ran the 300 Hurdles for the first time and opened with a 56.3

Congratulations to Senior Ashton James on breaking the school record in the 100 meter dash! Ashton ran a FAT timed 11.30 tonight at Christopher, breaking the old record of 11.59 held my Weston Hails. Hails set the old record in 2023.

This week we will be resurfacing areas of our parking lot and playground. The image below highlights the areas that will be closed for resurfacing. Please do not enter these areas over break. Coaches have communicated with their athletes on where to park for usage of the Track and Baseball/Softball Field.
Today, High School Science students attended Science Day at SIUC. They watched demonstrations on fermentation, magnets, lasers, chemical reactions, geology and the human heart! It was a great day!
