We have a few track changes to report. JH Regional Meet is May 1, 9 15 at Fairfield HS.
The HS Boys meet scheduled for May 2 at Mt. Vernon HS has been moved to May 1, 4:00.
There will be no HS BB/SB at Webber April 18 after all. I exhausted all my resources in trying to find replacement and could not.
The May 6 Baseball Tournament at Elverado has officially been done away with this year I'm told.

Our Wayne City/Webber baseball team beat Norris City 14-1 yesterday! It was a dominant performance and if you haven't caught a game yet come see these young men play!

Sports updates Webber Nation: COR had to cancel BB-SB here April 18 to make up a game with their other conference. However, I am looking to gain that date back with our own make-ups. Stay tuned.
The May 6 BB Round Robin at Elverado has also went by the wayside. Oh well, easy come, easy go they say. That's all for now. Have to get back to the phone lines to do some rescheduling.

The boys have another strong showing with 8 top 6 scoring boys which were highlighted by a fantastic day by senior Weston Hails who was a member of both 2nd place relay squads, as well as the winner of the Long Jump by 2 feet, jumping 20'1" into the wind. Other great performances were by Jaxon Dalby in the 800 with a huge open race PR of 2:12, Ashton James in the 200 with a huge PR of 25.72, and Damian Fleener running his first ever 400 to a time of 1:00.32. The girls had several strong performances as well, highlighted by Savanna Hulberts 6th place finish in the discus. Savanna Hulbert and Anna Frey both had strong performances in the 800 for the conditions, as did Laney Hails in the 200. Benton High School
We had 5 participants in this game: Savannah Hulbert, Anna Frey, Elijah Marlow, Hunter Danberry, and Weston Hails. I'll let you know as soon as the TBA becomes A.

Shout out to our "man in the middle" Hunter Danberry for his selection onto the Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South Team Congrats Big Guy!

Great day for the Webber-Wayne City Track and Field Program as both the boys and girls have great showings. Boys win all 4 relays WITHOUT their fastest legs for all four of them. Weston Hails jumps 20'7" in the long jump to win by over a foot. Hunter Danberry starts out his discus season with a win and only 7 feet shy of his all time PR. James Gentry wins the 110 Hurdles in his first ever HS hurdle race(Shoutout to Shanna Lusby for the training in middle school!) Finally for the boys Nathaniel Marlow wins the 800 with a PR of 2:13. The day included many PRs for a lot of our guys, I just cant list them all!
On the girls side they won the 4x400 relay and placed 2nd in the 4x800 as well. Addison Seidel of Wayne City takes second in the high jump, and Savanna Hulbert takes 2nd in the Discus and anchors the winning 4x400 relay. Laney Hails slides into scoring position with a 6th place finish in the 200 meter dash. The ladies had a very strong showing without several of their girls as well, and we expect them to improve greatly over the course of the season!

A real good friend mine and amongst the bet coaches in Webber history is being honored with IBCA Coach of the Year honors for District 20. This honor is well deserved for the year they had and the numbers put up over a career. My congratulations goes out to Coach Brad Beaty for receiving this prestegous award/honor. I believe I speak for all of Webber Nation in relaying how proud we are of your achievement.
