Just a reminder Freshmen Orientation (8th Grade Night) for incoming freshmen for the 2024/2025 school year is tonight at 6:00 pm in the Webber High School Gym.

High School Track and Field Highlights: Week of April 15th-19th
It was a great week for Webber-Wayne Track and Field as we had multiple great performances this week.
On Monday @ Benton, our girls had several PRs that included Kadi Bain in the Long Jump with a jump of 15'1". Emma Forristall in shot with a throw of 24'8", and Ellie Talbert in the 200 with a time of 34.98.
On Tuesday our boys represented down in Duquoin @ the Bob Karnes Relays with several great relay perfomances! Our 4x400 ran a PR(for the time being) of 3:44.58(James, Dalby, Marlow, Fleener). Our SMR Relay broke a school record with a run of 3:55.38(James, Walker, Ulm, Fleener), and the meet also had a HUGE PR from Freshman Jimmy Pigg in the Discus with a throw of 118'!
On Thursday we hosted our Webber Invitational with both our girls and boys competing! It was an awesome meet with great competition, were our athletes had alot of PRs. Grayson Fairchild had 2 PRs on the day with a 12.2 in the 100 and a 57.85 in the 400. Carter Bain had 2 PRs on the day with a 12.75 in the 100 and a 26.00 in the 200. James Gentry Pr'd in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 19.38. Jimmy Pigg WON the Discus with a throw of 115'!!! Our 4x100 of James Walker, Ashton James, Damian Fleener, and Nikkos Ulm PRd with a 46.3 and placed 2nd. Our 4x200 of James Walker, Ashton James, Damian Fleener, and Nikkos Ulm WON with a time of 1:36.2. Our 4x800 of Brennan Tate, Colter Stone, Nathaniel Marlow, and Jaxon Dalby WON the 4x800 with a 9:14. Our 4x400 of Ashton James, Jaxon Dalby, Nathaniel Marlow, and Damian Fleener ran a 3:39.87 and WON. Thats 3 of the 4 relays!
Our girls had an equally amazing day starting with PRs for Ellie Talbert in the 100 with a 14.94 and a PR in the 300m Hurdles with a 1:00.46. Ava Shaw PRd in the 100 with a 15.24 and the 200 with a 32.04. Shianna Desch Pr'd in the 200 with a 30.89. Alexis Johnson had a day with PRs in the 800(2:42) and WINNING the Mile with a 6:05.3. Our Throwers had a great day with Chloe King hitting PRs in the Shot Put(26'9") and Discus(81'4"). Eliana Barns PRd in the Shot(24/1") and Emma Forristall(54') Our Jumps had a great day with Kadi Bain(15'3/4") in the Long Jump, and Ellie Talbert in the Long Jump(27'2.5"). Ava Minor WON the High Jump with a jump of 4'8"! The Girls 4x200 of Jayden Taylor, Shianna Desch, Kaylin Loker, and Kadi Bain got 2nd and ran a PR time of 1:59.84.
The girls finished 3rd yesterday our of 11 and the Boys finished 4th out of 11!
Overall it was a great week for our programs as our kids are starting to ramp up and continually hit PRs meet after meet!

Reminder - Parent Pick up will be in the main parking lot (not on Chestnut Street). The parking lot will be congested with many spectators for the track meet so please be extra cautious!

Fourth grade had a great trip touring the Lincoln historic sites in Springfield today. They went to Lincoln's home, Lincoln's tomb, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, and the State Capital.

It's a special day for the Webber-Wayne Track program as all 4 of our current college athletes are competing today in Greenville! It is an awesome experience to get to watch former athletes continue to compete in the sport they love!
