On October 10, students Nathaniel Marlow, Audrey Frey, and Isaac Holloway attended State Senator Terri Bryant’s Youth Advisory Council at Rend Lake College. They had the valuable opportunity to hear from various speakers and actively participate in the process of drafting a bill proposal.

7th grade made animal and plant cells. Some students were challenged by making a metaphor of a cell. For example, a school building and giving people and places inside the school the same jobs as a cell's organelles would have. I'm really impressed they did a great job!

UPDATE: The Hold has been lifted.
Bluford Schools are currently placed on a Hold "soft lockdown" as a precautionary measure for a student who needs transported to the hospital. All students are safe and no need for alarm. We are sharing to stay transparent and let you know that the situation under control and no need for worry. We are hopeful to release at 3:10, however, students may be held afterschool until medical officials arrive and transport the student. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we protect the privacy of the student and safety of all students.

It was PRs galore today at Benton as your high school cross country squads.
The girls started off with good races from Lydia Hulbert and Kylie Snow. They continue to improve as the year goes on!
On the boys side, the boys brought home more hardware with a 3rd place finish. It was another great race, as in all of our local races the boys have placed top 3 or better!
