BGS is thrilled to announce that we will be starting an after school program through the YMCA beginning Monday January 6. The program will run daily from 3:05 - 5:30. A registration form must be completed. More details are available on the attachment.

With the potential for the weather to continue to deteriorate, the Bluford Unit School District will dismiss students at 2:00 p.m. Also, all PM events are canceled for this evening.

Another great year of competition!


Bluford USD placed 3rd in the Pigskin Cap collection this year, earning our school another $2,500. Thank you to the family, friends, and community members who continue to support our collection. We couldn’t do it without you. A special thanks to Ms. Baine for leading our school in this project!


First game of pool play at the Conrad Allen Holiday Tournament. Tough 44-49 loss to Gallatin Co. Webber will play again Monday night at 7:00 pm.

Scholastic Bowl was hard at work this morning!


There was a lot of giggling and learning going on in the stem lab today. Second grade worked with Botley.





Fifth grade partnered with Jefferson County 4-H and WTHS Ag students to build marshmallow catapults. The winning team launched a marshmallow 16’ 7”.





Four HS teen teachers, trained by Ramona Girtman from Jefferson County 4-H, helped fifth grade students make marshmallow catapults. The fifth grade students made marshmallow catapults to culminate their study of simple machines.





Secret Santa Providing Random Acts of Kindness. We LOVE our chocolate Santa candy. Thank you, Secret Santa. ;)




The high school art class is helping spread holiday cheer by painting the entrance windows.
