
I want to thank all the fans we had show up for Volleyball last night, and a big shout out to our student section that did great cheering on team. Today's junior high softball and baseball games against Raccoon have been cancelled. Neither will practice after school either.


ATTENTION CROSS COUNTRY
The HS meet today @ Fairfield has been canceled. There will not be practice for the grade school today. HS practice can be done at home or at school.
The HS meet @ Marion High School has been moved to tomorrow, Wednesday August 25th @ 5:15 PM.
The GS meet @ Field on Saturday, August 28th @ 9:00 AM is still on.

BGS hosts an after school program that is operated by the YMCA. We are looking for someone to staff the program. The hours are 3:00 - 5:30 on school days and the rate of pay is $15. If interested, please contact Nicole Henson or Shane Gordon at 618-732-8242.

The JH Boys Baseball game today is canceled. It has been rescheduled for Sept. 16 at Clay City. The girls softball game is still on today at Clay City.
Anyone that did not get an opportunity to order individual sports pictures for whatever reason, they will be back Sept. 17 doing school pictures and can be made up then. Please notify me if you would like your child to do this.

Reminder- Sports Physicals are being conducted Tuesday August 24, during the school day. These physicals are only $10 and are good for 390 days. We have to have 15 people signed up or they will not come. Student/Athletes can sign up in my office or nurse office asap.

The churches in Bluford are hosting a back to school bash on Saturday, August 21, from 4:00 - 6:00 at the First Baptist Church in Bluford. There will be a free concert by Judah First, bounce houses, and free hot dogs, water and snow cones. Everyone is welcome!

From AD Hamerski: "The Webber/Wayne City baseball team will have a meet the team/coaches and team scrimmage at Wayne City field Monday, August 16th at 4:15. Parents and spectators are encouraged to attend the event and get to know one another as we venture onto our first ever cooperative venture. Coaches will be available after the scrimmage for a parent meeting. See you there." If you have any questions, please contact A.D. Hamerski.

If you are intending to have your child participate in the YMCA after school program, we need to have a completed application form. As of now only one has been submitted. School starts Monday, so if you intend to participate, please complete a registration form by the end of this week. Application forms have been emailed to K-5 parents and can be received in the office.

Cross Country Practice Tomorrow is 7:30-8:30 am. There will NOT be practice on Friday this week. I would also like to give a big THANK YOU to all the parents and guardians who have put in the time and effort to transport their athletes to practices this summer! Your support has been pivotal to the success of this program!

For anyone planning to attend the special board meeting tonight, the meeting will occur in the high school gym. Also, our parking lot is currently being seal coated. Parking is available on the west side of the building. You can enter on the west side and walk down the hall to the hs gym. Additionally, parking is available across the street at the Ruritan Club. If you park there, you can enter through the main entrance of the high school.

The district has an immediate need for a 1:1 paraprofessional placed with a student at MVTHS.


ATTENTION CROSS COUNTRY PARENTS:
There will be a parent meeting this Monday , August 9th @ 6pm at the high school. This meeting is for all parents who have a child 4th-12th grades planning to participate in cross country this season. Your child does not need to attend. Please pass this along to anyone who does not have Facebook or does not check the live feed! Thank you and I hope to see many of you there!
