Spent some time today reading the book “All are Welcome” to most of the elementary grades and then the 8th grade science students surprised me with a name plate made from the 3 D printer. No better way to end a week than with the best students around! #blessedbeyondmeasure

Congratulations to the August students of the month and thank you to the BGS Booster Club for sponsoring the program! Pictured are Hailey Popplewell, Embry Raney, Izabel Andrews, Parker Withrow, Lily Rains, Hailei Marlow, Waylon Jones, Baylee Adams, and Jersi Tate.

This post is a little late, but thank you to Mt. Vernon Menards for coordinating a school supply drive for us. This is just a small portion of what still remains.

Small group reading

How cool is this?!? King City Books in Mt. Vernon has a program for students to review books prior to publication. We have several students who have signed up to be "professional" book reviewers! And we get to keep all of the books for our library!

The Science/Robotics Club had their first meeting of the year this afternoon. Thanks to the Jefferson County 4-H chapter for partnering with us for robotics kits!

Junior High baseball and softball games are cancelled for today, Tuesday, Sept. 3. The opposing teams did not have enough players to field a team.

7th graders are investigating bacterial growth. We may look at some of our favorite foods differently!

Fifth grade made plant and animal Jello cells to learn about each cell part. Students then illustrated each cell and described the function of each part.

Students explored various ways to use unit cubes to build rectangular prisms and express the volume.

Spelling with magnetic board

How awesome is this second grade door decoration?!?!

School Mall packets are coming home today. Students who return completed packets by Monday, September 9th will receive a mystery backpack pet.

We are ready for you! Join us for breakfast at the Ruritan Club beginning at 7:00 and then come help us celebrate at ribbon cutting at 9:30. Please park in the north lot an then feel free to use either the grade school entrance or the new high school entrance!
