📵 Exciting News: A New Way to Focus & Thrive! 📵
Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, both Bluford Grade School and Webber High School will be going cell phone-free during school hours. (Cell phones should be turned off and out of sight) Smart watches will not be permitted for anything other than looking at the time. This change is part of our commitment to creating the best learning environment possible for all students.
Why This Matters:
We know that it can be easy to get distracted by our phones, but by removing them from the classroom, we’re helping everyone stay more focused on what truly matters—learning and connecting with others!
Here’s how this will benefit our students:
✅ Less Distractions: Students will have more opportunities to engage with the lesson and focus on schoolwork.
✅ Fewer Issues with Cyberbullying: With phones out of sight, we create a safer, more positive space for all students.
✅ Less Digital Overload: Fewer distractions from social media and screens, meaning students can be more present in the moment.
✅ Lower Anxiety: Students will feel more relaxed without the pressure of constantly checking their phones.
What This Means for Our School Community:
🧑🏫 Stronger Focus in Class: Students can engage deeply with their teachers and peers, without the pull of their devices.
💬 Better Social Interactions: More in-person conversations, creating stronger friendships and a better school community.
📚 Improved Academic Success: With fewer distractions, students can dedicate their energy to learning and growing.
We are excited for the positive impact this will have and are confident that it will lead to a healthier, more focused school day for everyone. Let’s work together to make this change a success!
Thank you for your support, and here’s to an even better year ahead! 🎉
