Bluford FFA Alumni Approves $7,000 Donation for New Student-Built Storage Building
BLUFORD, IL. – February 3, 2026 – The Bluford FFA Alumni announced the approval of a $7,000 donation to the Bluford FFA program. The funds will be dedicated to purchasing construction materials for a new storage building, a project that will not only add to the school’s facilities, but also provide hands-on construction experience for agricultural education students.
The donation was officially approved during the Alumni’s recent meeting on February 3, 2026. The new building will address a critical need for storage space for the growing FFA chapter, housing equipment, tools, and materials used for classroom instruction and community service projects.
In keeping with the FFA’s motto of "Learning to Do," the building will be constructed primarily by the students themselves under the supervision of the Agriculture Teachers and Co-FFA Advisors, Mr. Ethan Maxey and Mrs. Madison Launius.
"We are incredibly proud to support the Bluford FFA with this donation," said Wayne Jones, President of the Bluford FFA Alumni. "This project invests directly into their future with hands-on learning experience. Helping the students gain real-world experience and job skills is exactly why our Alumni exist."
The Bluford FFA program at Webber High School has increased programming options in recent years, leading to a higher demand for equipment and space. This storage building will ensure the program continues to run efficiently.
"We are grateful for the unwavering support of our Alumni," said Mr. Maxey and Mrs. Launius, Bluford FFA Advisors. "This project allows our students to take ownership of their learning through applying the skills they have learned. Students will gain a sense of pride with this project, knowing when they return to Webber years later, they left their mark."
Construction is scheduled to begin in the Spring.
