The Bluford Board of Education held its Regular October Board Meeting on October 16th at 6pm. Below are highlights from the meeting:
*Consent Agenda was approved.
*Superintendent's report included the following updates: The District received the first distribution of tax installments. We received the COPS grant in the amount of $168,403, which requires a 25% match from the district for improvements to school safety. Dr. Cross also provided updates on the district strategic plan, including progress towards goals, including both academic and SEL supports. The district has partnered with the ROE for a Student Success Coach, working on the creation of an RtI plan, and expanding PBIS initiatives in both buildings. Future family engagement nights are being planned.
*The Board approved the School Wellness Policy.
*In Personnel, the Board accepted the resignation of Matt Strain as Grade School Asst. Boys Basketball Coach, effective 9/22/2025.
*The Board hired Jerry Case as the Grade School Asst. Boys Basketball Coach and approved the following Volunteer Coaches: Dustin Korte (GS Boys Basketball), Kenzie Hamlin (PeeWee Cheer), Hank Holtgrewe (3rd Grade PeeWee Boys), Kortny and Justin Payne (3/4 PeeWee Girls).
