The Bluford Board of Education held its regular December Board meeting on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. There were 2 visitors. The following items were discussed and action taken:
1. Approval of the Consent Agenda, including Minutes for the November 16, 2023 Regular Board of Education Meeting; Executive Session Minutes from November 16, 2023 to remain confidential; Bills for December 2023; Financial Reports for November 2023; Suspensions Imposed by Building Administrators for November 2023;
2. Superintendent, Principals and Maintenance Reports included information about student highlights, sports, and December Christmas events at the school. Also included were building projects/maintenance completed, solar project updates, and an update on additional Title funding.
3. Approval of the 2023 tax levy for the grade school, high school, and unit districts, as presented.
4. Approval of the final reading of Board Policy Updates, from October 2023 Press Plus Update 113, as presented.
5. The Board entered into Executive Session and the following items were approved following executive session:
- Accepted the letter of resignation from Beth Spangler as HS Secretary effective November 29, 2023.
- Accepted the letter of resignation from Kayla Wright as 3rd Grade Teacher at Bluford Grade School effective December 21, 2023 at the conclusion of teaching duties.
- Approved Travis Helm as Volunteer Assistant HS Basketball Coach for the 2023-2024 Season.
- Employed Steve Walkington as Full Time Bus Driver
- Employed Donna Wilkey as HS Secretary
