The Bluford Board of Education held its regular August Board meeting on Thursday, August 17, 2023. The following items were discussed and action taken:
1. Approval of the consent agenda.
2. Superintendent, Principals and Maintenance Reports included information about current enrollments, the first week of school, and completed summer building projects that were completed.
3. The Board heard information about a potential solar project at Bluford Schools.
4. The Board approved the FY24 Tentative Budget to be put on display.
5. The Board approved the FMLA request for Hannah Pierce and Rebecca Willett.
6. Following executive session the Board approved the following items:
- Approved an Memorandum of Understanding between the Bluford Unit School District #318 and the Bluford-Webber Education Association to create an additional extra curricular stipend position of Grade School Robotics Sponsor for the 2023-2024 school year with a stipend of $500.
- Approved the letter of resignation from Leanne Habermass as Special Education Aide and Bus Driver.
- Approved to hire Durenda Galloway as a full-time bus driver for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Approved to hire Levi Aydt as full time custodian.
- Approved to hire Mason Cates as a JH and HS Volunteer Assistant Volleyball Coach, Matt Hicks as HS Softball Coach, Destiny Holtz as HS Assistant Softball Coach, and Jason Hicks as a JH and HS Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Approved to post for a grade school aide and an internal posting for a Grade School Robotics Sponsor.
