I cannot express in words my excitement to continue serving the faculty, staff, students, and community of Bluford USD #318! I am passionate about continuing the success of the district and leading us forward!
As Superintendent for the Bluford School District, I am committed to the following:
Creating Educational Opportunities for our Students - Every decision we make should be rooted in what is best for students. I will keep this at the forefront of all decision making. This district has worked hard the last several years to improve facilities and educational opportunities for our students. My goal is to sustain and continue these improvements.
Communication/Transparency - It is vital we all communicate with each other. If something is on your mind, please come speak with me or a member of our administrative team. I have been told I have never met a stranger, so don't hesitate to share what is on your mind. If I cannot answer your questions, I will be diligent if finding the support you need and get back with you.
Foster a Collaborative Culture - A positive school culture is similar to a family atmosphere. That is what comes to mind when I think of Bluford Schools! When we support each other and put students first, it is contagious. A positive climate will lead to increased student achievement and success.
Serve Others - I have always found it fulfilling to help others. Without putting the needs of students and faculty/staff first, we cannot succeed. "Tend to the people, and they will tend to work" is a quote that has stuck with me and truly encompasses what my goal is for the organization.
Advocate - As a district leader, it is my responsibility to advocate at the local, state, and federal level for the resources we need to support our organization. Whether this is funding or curriculum needs, it is important we advocate for the unique needs of Bluford. Small, rural districts have just as many diverse needs as urban schools, and we must advocate for what will be successful in our schools for our students!
Again, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve Bluford Schools. Please contact me anytime if I can be of assistance! Let's educate a community of learners, one Trojan at a time!
