Greetings and welcome to Bluford Unit School District #318! My name is Nicole Henson and I am the principal of Bluford Grade School/Webber High School. I am a native and high school graduate of the neighboring community, Wayne City. In 1996, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Education through Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. I continued my education, while teaching, to earn a Masters degree in Instructional Strategies through Rockford University in 2001. I had always wanted to pursue a Masters degree in administration so after 17 years of teaching, I enrolled in the Educational Leadership Program at Eastern Illinois University. In 2016, I completed the program with a Principal Endorsement. Throughout my 22 year tenure here at Bluford, I have taught first, third, fourth, and sixth grades, jr. high math and science, as well as coached girls' basketball and track, and served as assistant principal.

I realize how truly blessed I am to be a part of this school and community for so many years and look forward to serving as your principal. I feel it is important to cultivate an attitude and atmosphere of excitement and positivity so that everyone who steps through our doors has an enjoyable experience. This school and community have become an extended family. As a family, we are all here to support and encourage each student to achieve their life, college and career goals. We each have a role to play in leading our students to succeed and I am excited to be partnering with you to provide our students with experiences that are rigorous, as well as fun and engaging. We have some of the most amazing students who make working here truly a pleasure. Our faculty and staff are top notch, striving to provide each and every student with a variety of experiences to develop both academic and life skills.

Again, I appreciate the opportunity to work with the students, staff, and community of BUSD to have a rewarding and successful school year!
