Meet Mrs. Haile

Mrs. Karen Haile has been employed at Webber High School for her entire 32 year career!  During that time, she has served in many roles including teaching the following courses, Business, Keyboarding, Career Orientation, Computer Concepts, Desktop Publishing, Accounting, and Computer Programming.  Along with teaching, Mrs. Haile is heavily involved in student extra-curricular events serving as the sponsor for the Beta Club, Yearbook, the freshman class, as well as a PBIS internal team member.

Mrs. Haile's first endeavor into education was as a second grade substitute teacher for 8 weeks at the beginning of her career.  Also, Mrs. Haile served as the Principal at Webber Township High School before choosing to return to the classroom, which she finds more enjoyable.

There are two roles in which Mrs. Haile finds most enjoyable.  First, the coursework for which she is responsible requires students to be exposed to practical, lifelong skills with keyboarding and computers.  "These are tools they can use in a career, at home, or in the community."  Second, she really enjoys extra-curricular involvement.  Beta, Yearbook, and school dances are all activities which are enjoyable experiences.  Mrs. Haile's favorite aspects of teaching directly relate to her favorite moments.  She shared, "I feel blessed when students have returned over the years and share how they have used skills learned in my classes."

Outside of school, Mrs. Haile enjoys reading and playing the piano, as well as spending time with her family (husband, three children, and five grandchildren) and church activities.  With her service oriented mindset, Mrs. Haile also serves as the Treasurer of the Wayne City Ruritan Club and the President of the Wayne City Schools Board of Education.
