In honor of Veterans Day, we celebrated America this week. 
We learned about Veterans Day and how it came to be. 
We wrote letters that will go to veterans who are currently in the Marion VA Medical Center
and some we even hand delivered. 
We learned about various American Symbols and government.

Special Visitors!!
We had a visit by two local soldiers.  We enjoyed hearing from Sergeant First Class Travis Tate and Specialist Shelton.  They discussed their tour of duty in Iraq.  We got to see a huge military vehicle up close and personal.  Sergeant Tate also brought some things from Iraq to share with us.

Paying Tribute
We took the opportunity to pay tribute to some local heroes.  We invited some of our family members who are veterans to come and visit us.  We said thank you by sharing some songs, poems, and setting a white table to offer our thanks.  We read to them some of our letters of thanks and interviewed them.   We also invited them to stay for lunch.  
We learned so much from these gentlemen.
