Board of Education Meeting

November 17, 2008 7:00 p.m.

          Board President Don Sneed called the regular Board of Education Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Upon roll call the following members were present:  John Maurer, Jim Wray, Larry Manning, Carol Rudofski, Brad Austin and Travis Cameron.  Superintendent Scott Porter and Kim McCormick were present.  Visitors were Angie Hanner, Willie Taylor, Amanda Marshall, and Ashley Snow.

Motion:     Austin-“to approve minutes of October 20, 2008 p.m.”

Second:    Wray

Action:      Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:     Manning-“to approve Treasurer’s Report.”

Second:    Rudofski

Action:      Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:     Rudofksi-:to approve November bills and payroll.”

Second:    Cameron

Action:      Yeas: Cameron,Austin, Rudofski, Manning, Wray, Maurer, and Sneed.  Motion Carried.

Thank you letter was read from Dixie Rector expressing thank you in the loss of Donnies father-in-law.  Willie Taylor addressed the board about the league being formed for sports.  Sports for grades 1^st/2^nd grade kids will be offered.  President- Terri Helm, Vice President, Willie Taylor, Treasurer, Jodie Girvan, Secretary- Tina Sellers.

Motion:     Rudofski-“to set December 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. for the School Code Waiver Hearing.”

Second:    Manning

Action:      Roll Call Vote: Yeas: Maurer, Wray, Manning, Rudofski, Austin, Cameron, and Sneed.   MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:     Rudofski-“to go to executive at 7:35 p.m.”

Second:    Manning

Action:      Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:     Rudofski-“to come out of executive at 8:30 p.m.”

Second:    Maurer

Action:      Voice Vote:  All yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:     Maurer-“to reschedule the December 15, 2008 Board meeting to 7:30 p.m.”

Second:    Austin

Action:      Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.
