ABOUT THE TEACHER

Hello.  My name is Jennifer Martin and I moved to Mount Vernon, IL with my husband and son during the Summer of 2006.  I am originally from a small town in Western Kentucky (just south of Mayfield) and I am a HUGE Kentucky Wildcat fan.  :)

I graduated from Murray State University with a B.A. degree in History/Secondary Education in 1996, a M.A. degree in Education/School Administration in 2000, and completed 30 hours above a master's degree in School Administration with a Gifted Education teaching endorsement in 2003.  It was at Murray State  where I met my husband, Jerry.  We have a nine-year-old son, Logan, who keeps us very busy.  My family loves to play and watch sports and I also enjoy running, working outdoors, and watching ESPN and HGTV.  We have two spoiled dogs, Sadie and Marley, that add excitement to our lives.  :)

Logan attends fourth grade here at Bluford Grade School so this school is very important to me as a teacher and as a parent.  This is my 15th year in education, with my time being spent at the middle school and high school levels.  I absolutely love to teach and I look forward to having a wonderful school year.  Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns (jmartin@blufordschools.org).
