Board of Education Meeting

December 15, 2008

                                                    7:30 p.m.

Board Vice President Carol Rudofski called the regular Board of Education meeting to order.  Upon roll call the following members were present:  John Maurer, Jim Wray, John Maurer, Travis Cameron, and Brad Austin.  Superintendent Scott Porter and Kim McCormick were present.  Visitors were Kent Reeves and Nate Gwinn.

Kent Reeves presented the 2007-08 audit to the board.

Motion:      Cameron-“to approve minutes of November 17, 2008.”

Second:      Maurer

Action:       Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:      Austin-“to approve Treasurer’s Report.”

Second:      Cameron

Action:       Voice Vote:  All Yeas: MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:      Maurer-“to approve December bills and payroll.”

Second:      Wray

Action:       Roll Call Vote:  Yeas:  Maurer, Wray, Manning, Cameron, Austin, and Rudofski Nay:  None.  MOTION CARRIED.

Public Hearing was held for the Waiver or Modification of State Board Rules and/or School Code Mandates.

Motion:      Manning-“to adopt the proposed application for waiver of School Code.”

Second:      Austin

Action:       Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:      Manning-“to adopt district tax levy.”

Second:      Wray

Action:       Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:      Austin-“to approve advertisement for teacher aide.”

Second:      Manning

Action:       Roll Call Vote:  Yeas:  Manning, Wray, Maurer, Cameron, Austin, and Rudofski.  Nay:  None.  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:      Maurer-“to adjourn at 8:48 p.m.”
