BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING

APRIL 18, 2011 7:00 P.M.

            Board President Don Sneed called the regular Board of Education meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Present were Travis Cameron, Carol Rudofski, John Maurer, Jim Wray, Brad Austin and Larry Manning.  Superintendent Scott Porter and Kim McCormick were present. Visitors were Kent Strothmann and Jennifer Martin.

Motion:         Maurer-“approve March 14, 2011 minutes.”

Second:         Rudofski

Action:           Voice Vote:  All Yeas          MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:         Rudofski-“to approve Treasurer’s Report.”

Second:         Austin

Action:           Voice Vote:  All Yeas:         MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:         Cameron-“to approve April bills and payroll.”

Second:         Manning

Action:           Roll Call Vote:  Yeas:  Cameron, Rudofski, Maurer, Wray, Austin, Manning, and Sneed.  MOTION CARRIED.

Kent Strothmann addressed the board with the request to purchase basketball uniforms.

Motion:         Manning-“to purchase 40 basketball uniforms at $73.00 each.”

Second:         Rudofski

Action:           Roll Call Vote:  Yeas:  Cameron, Rudofski ,Maurer, Wray, Austin, Manning, and Sneed.  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:         Rudofski-“to destroy the verbatim records of regular board meeting closed session thru October 2009 and keep all closed session minutes closed.”

Second:         Austin

Action:           Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:         Manning-to approve superintendent to advertise for milk and bread bids.”

Second:         Maurer

Motion:         Maurer-“to approve summer school dates of June 13-July 8, 2011.”

Second:         Wray

Action:           Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:         Rudofski-“to approve Student Teacher Agreement with SIU.”

Second:         Manning

Action:           Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:         Maurer-“to go to executive at 7:38 p.m. to discuss personnel.”

Second:         Rudofski

Action:           Voice Vote:  All Yeas:  MOTION CARRIED.

Motion:         Larry-“to come out of executive at 9:05 p.m.”

Motion:         Rudofski-“enter into joint contract between Bluford Grade School and Webber High School with Scott Porter as superintendent.”

Second:         Austin

Motion:         Rudofski-“enter into joint contract between Bluford Grade School and Webber High School with Jennifer Martin as principal.”

Motion:         Cameron-“to purchase drywall corner pieces 30 @$39.29 for the amount of $1178.70.”

Motion:         Rudofski-“to accept the Option 2 proposal from Huff Sealing Corporation in the amount of $5077.00
